At times life is an uphill battle as I continue to push towards new ideas and ventures. The opening night of Indigo Lounge was truly powerful, inspirational and educational. The room was filled with an eclectic mix of groovy people and good vibes. We celebrated an evening of Black history and love for the month of February. We started it with a libation, which is a African ritual to honor and respect those who came before us. It was a magic carpet ride through book passages and historic lessons in the name of spoken word and jazz. I'll be videotaping shows on youtube and you can go to my vlog for more details.. http://www.youtube.com/user/piddlepromo

Piddle Productions and The Young Poetry Society are putting together a Black History program for Long Beach City College. I am excited, nervous and at times have my doubts if we will be able to pull this off. These young scholars are amazing and I enjoy mentoring young minds. However, it's harder than I expected. What's weird is the creative part is never hard, but getting creative folks coordinated is the killer. I don't know what I got myself into.hehehe. Screw it...I am always down for good challenge. I'll keep you posted. The next Indigo Lounge is March 7th. We are celebrating "WomEns MonTh" with an all female jazz band and female featured poets that will blow your mind! Check out the band!

Polyhymnia (paul-lim-nia) is a group of all female musicians who play their music to make you groove. Each member has a rather extensive background in jazz and classical music. They are not afraid to reach out of their comfort zone and try new things. All members of Polyhymnia are music majors who attend either Cal State Northridge or Cal Arts.

I'm addicted to coping strategies!!

Has anyone ever told you that they used to be "in the world" but all of a sudden out of some circumstance or situation have decided they are too God-like to participate? Well, reality is that we must all live in this world. Call it spirit, God, Jesus, Buddha, consciousness, the universe or nothing at all - it was all created for you, in you. Life and the world we live in is beautiful. Look at all the wonders of nature. The difference is knowing what you are here to do. We can feed our fears with fear or we can conquer our fears by turning inside ourselves for real answers. People confuse superficial actions with the real thing constantly, and so they will forever remain zombies. I believe in God, I believe in science, I believe in evolution. I am open to everything and attached to nothing. This is the mystery of life and I humble myself to the all and everything.

Your DNA and your life journey was specifically chiseled out for you. Stop looking at the next persons imperfec…

Greetings,
I am floating, flying, sailing into darkness, uncertainty and faith. It's been an interesting year so far. I feel myself evolving while unraveling. With the death of my grandmother and my beloved friend just a few months apart, I feel the ancestors tugging at me like never before.
My production company is providing a service in order to fund our film production about the African Diaspora called DiSpell. I would like to thank all of you who have donated at our fundraisers. We continue to stay passionate about traveling along the Caribbean coast and archiving stories. The goal is to fly to Afro Caribbean Costa Rica and travel by land back to the United States maintaining and documenting stories of our ancestors. We are the historians that must keep our own stories alive. It is important to instill strength, courage and holistic health practices in our POC communities. I am a holistic health advocate and I want to remind you of who you are. As storytellers and multimedia …

Memorial Weekend at Val Verde, Ca

One of the best things happened to me! I was able to fullfill a bucket list dream which was to put on a community Music and Cultural Festival. Although there is room for improvement I can honestly say it was the best decision I have made this year. It takes support of family and friends to keep me motivated and pushing towards my goals and vision.
I am grateful. There will be more festivals curated by me in the on going years. The world is as good as you make it. Stay focused, stay positive and set your intention.

Please do yourself a favor and research the historic relevance of "Black Palm Springs" in the 1920's during Jim Crow.

This annual festival is not just about having a good time it's about historical awareness in underserved communities.

Come out next year for free camping, free swimming, yoga, live music and community!
