You don't need another new year to smell the roses

We can't change the world. We are the world that needs a change. Strive to keep your mind, body and spirit balanced. The more we practice being centered the better we can help our neighbors. Imagine a ripple effect of goodness covering the earth.

Do not be an anticipant- someone who sits back anticipating for something good to happen. You have to participate in order to evolve.

A person who identifies with doubt can get lost in contentment. Doubt and excuses are worldly illusion made by the ego.

Society is uncomfortable with emptiness, it sees it as a void.

Society suspects that gaining as much as you can will bring value and happiness.

Be simple. Take only what you need. Like quality friendships and wholesome foods.

Loss is the doorway to connection.
Let go...

We don't need the new year for new beginnings. Transformation starts every morning when you have a chance to start  over.

The tree an extension of myself,  helping me stay balanced and grounded.  I'd like to share what I've been practicing in order to transform into my better self. Perhaps you will find something helpful that will further your inner journey as well.  Practice compassion for those who have separated themselves consciously. Start by forgiving yourself for not being perfect. Love individuals that are difficult to love. Not just particular people, do it without circumstance or demand. Remain vigilant and conscious. Stay present. Be impervious to negativity. Take accountability. Do your inner work. When you know yourself, you trust yourself. The more trust the more self love and self acceptance. Stay connected with nature. I enjoy going to the beach or sitting under a blanket of trees in my garden. Listen to the rhythm of nature. Nature moves with purpose. A vision pulls you forward. Don't...

I'm Reading at the Craft & Folk Art Museum

The CAFAM Shop is thrilled to introduce a new zine/small press section, curated by L.A. Zine Fest and The Pop-Hop . We're celebrating the launch of the new collaboration Saturday, April 18th, and you're invited. Work from The Blk Grrrl Show , John Pham, Yumi Sakugawa :: Comic Book Artist + Illustrator , Tiny Splendor , and Selfish. This is really exciting for me because I have been a zinester since 2010 with the launch of my Black Punk Rock themed zine "Abstract By Nature." I'll be there representing with the #blkgrrrl show and reciting a few of my poems from my chapbook "Rage Love Complexity."  Very honored to share the stage with Pam Ward and Teka Lark Fleming. I donated books and I will have chapbooks available at the Pop Hop in Highland Park, Ca. See you there, Zoe Blaq
This was an inspiring weekend for every type of writer who needs a little push. I had fun sharing my poetry with a talented group of Los Angeles poets at the annual LitFest Pasadena.
